4. App permissions
In order for you to be able to use all the functionalities and services of the timee app, the app must be able to access various functions and data on your device. To do this, it is technically necessary for you to grant the app certain access permissions. If you do not wish to grant certain access rights, some of the functions and services of the app can be restricted. In the following, we inform you about which permissions the timee app requires:
Location (network-based location, GPS location): We need your current location to be able to show you events in your area.
Photos/ media/ files, change or delete SD card contents, read SD card contents: These permissions are required to save and access the timee app on the SD card. In addition, the permissions are required to save, share or cache content locally. The latter can shorten the loading time and minimise data consumption.
Use account authentication permissions: This permission allows the timee app to request an authentication token. The token indicates to the server that this is a specific authorised user.
Search accounts on the device, create accounts and set passwords, add or remove accounts: We need these permissions to allow you to automatically log in with your user account stored on your device.
Get internet data, view network status, full internet access: These permissions are required to allow the timee app to access the internet, for example to log in to our servers and retrieve content such as events and appointments. The permissions allow the timee app to check whether your device is online.
Run on startup, disable hibernation, control vibration: These permissions are required to ensure that push messages and appointment reminders work correctly.
Read and write synchronisation settings: These permissions are required in connection with the synchronisation features provided by timee. This allows you to synchronise appointments, messages and chats between different devices.
Change global system settings: This permission is required to enable or disable the synchronisation feature when you change the synchronisation settings.
Camera: We need this permission if you want to take photos or videos directly and share them in the chat. Access to the camera is also required if you want to directly create a profile picture and add it to your profile.
Calendar: We need access to the calendar in order to synchronise appointments and add calendar entries (e.g. for events you are attending).
5. Obligation to provide data
The provision of your data is not required by law. However, some of the aforementioned data is required in order to be able to conclude and execute the usage contract via the timee app. Without the communication of the data required for the execution of the contract, we are not able to enter into a usage contract with you via the timee App. The communication of other data is voluntary, but may be required for the use of certain services. We will inform you when you enter data if the provision is required for the respective service or function. This data is marked as mandatory. In the case of required data, failure to provide it will result in the relevant service or function not being provided. For optional data, failure to provide it may result in our not being able to provide our services in the same form and to the same extent as usual.

Declaration of consent
I consent to timee using my registration data, location data and data that accrues when using the timee app to analyse my activities in the timee app across devices and to send me advertising that is individually tailored to me in the timee app and – insofar as I have ordered this separately (see section 5.4 below).
In detail, this means the following:
timee uses my data (registration data, location data as well as data that accrues when using the timee App) to personalise the functionalities and services of the timee App, e.g. to recommend certain events or other content to me that is based on my presumed interests. timee also uses this data to form user segments. This allows me to see events and other content that are more likely to be relevant to me. In addition, based on my gender, age, location and interests, timee displays tailored ads that may be of interest to me. timee determines the extent to which I respond to ads in order to improve ad quality and display ads that are more likely to be relevant to me.
I can revoke this consent at any time. A notification in text form to the contact details mentioned under point 14 is sufficient. In this case, I will only receive general advertisements that are not individually tailored to me.

Ich willige ein, dass mein Benutzername, Profilbild und Nutzerprofil für andere Nutzer von timee zugänglich sind. Meine erstellten Events werden öffentlich mit allen Nutzern von timee geteilt, wenn ich die entsprechenden Einstellungen in meinem Nutzerkonto gewählt habe. Die Detailseite eines Events zeigt übersichtlich an, wer eingeladen wurde und teilnimmt, sowie wo und wann die jeweilige Veranstaltung stattfindet.
timee darf andere Nutzer über meine Aktivitäten (Erstellen von Events etc.) informieren, um diesen Events und andere Inhalte anzuzeigen, die für diese interessant sein könnten, vorausgesetzt, dass ich die entsprechenden Einstellungen in meinem Nutzerprofil vorgenommen habe. timee darf andere Nutzer per Push-Mitteilung benachrichtigen, dass ich mich bei timee registriert habe. Mit meiner ausdrücklichen Zustimmung kann timee andere Nutzer über meinen Standort informieren.
Diese Einwilligung kann ich jederzeit widerrufen, indem ich meine Einstellungen entsprechend anpasse. Bin ich mit der Datenverarbeitung grundsätzlich nicht mehr einverstanden, kann ich die Einwilligung auch im Ganzen widerrufen. Eine Mitteilung in Textform an die unter Ziffer 14 genannten Kontaktdaten ist ausreichend. In diesem Fall kann ich timee nicht weiter nutzen.

6.4 Push services
The timee app uses push services of the operating system manufacturers. These are short messages that are shown on the display of your device with your consent and with which you are actively informed about events, reminders and other events. When using the push services, the device token from Apple or the registration ID from Google are exchanged. The purpose of their use by timee is to provide the push services. When installing the timee app, you can decide whether you want to use the push services. To opt out of the push services at a later date, you can adjust your device settings accordingly.
The legal basis for the described data processing is Art. 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (consent), insofar as you have agreed to receive push notifications in your device settings.
6.5 Contact form
You can use the “Send feedback” form in the timee app to contact us. To use the contact form, we require the following information:
Username,
email address,
reason for contact and message.
You can provide us with further details, but you do not have to.
We use your data to answer your enquiry(s) and, if necessary, to send you the information material you requested. If necessary, the information provided to us will be forwarded to the department responsible for your request. The data entered will be transmitted in encrypted form.
The legal basis for the described data processing is Art. 6 (1) (b), (f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (pre-contractual measures and fulfilment of the contract or balancing of interests, based on timee’s interest in answering its users’ enquiries).
6.6 Data transfer to third parties
timee is a social medium that offers numerous options for searching and sharing events (“Events”). timee offers you an interactive calendar, the display of Events in your area and social features to connect you with your friends and contacts.
You may have given the following consent when registering for your user account:
We provide you with settings that allow you to choose which communications you receive from us and which information you want to share publicly. By default, appointments and events you create are only shown to you and, if applicable, to users you invite. If you explicitly wish, you can also share them publicly with all users. We recommend that you use timee prudently and consider what information you want to make publicly available.
Otherwise, we will not pass on your data to third parties. Insofar as we are obliged to do so by law or by a court order, we will pass on your data to bodies entitled to receive information.
7. Use of service providers
timee uses service providers to provide the functionalities and services of the timee app and to process your data (so-called commissioned processing pursuant to Art. 28 DSGVO). For example, we work with cloud service providers who host our databases and with analytics service providers who provide us with data on the use of the timee App. The service providers process the data exclusively on timee’s instructions and have been obligated to comply with the applicable data protection regulations. All processors have been carefully selected and will only be given access to your data to the extent and for the period required to provide the services.
8. Data transfer to other countries
In order to process your data, timee uses service providers – as described in section 7. The service providers used by timee store your data on servers located in several countries, including the USA. Your data may therefore be subject to data protection laws that differ from those in your home country. timee will only transfer your data to other countries if this is permitted under the applicable data protection laws. With service providers in third countries, we conclude the data protection contract (standard data protection clauses) provided by the Commission of the European Union for the processing of personal data in third countries. This provides appropriate safeguards for the protection of your data with service providers in the third country. You can request a copy of this data protection contract using the contact details provided above.
9. When do we delete your data?
We generally only store your data for as long as we need it for the respective processing purposes. If the data is no longer required for the fulfilment of the processing purposes stated in this data protection information, it will be deleted unless its retention is still necessary for the fulfilment of retention obligations under commercial or tax law.
10. Data security
We take technical and organisational security measures to protect your data from unauthorised access. Your user account is protected by a password. Please choose a strong password in your own interest. It should be so complex that it cannot be easily guessed. It is best to choose a password with a length of at least eight characters and a combination of upper and lower case letters, special characters and numbers.
11. Your rights
You can request information about your personal data processed by us. If your information is not (or no longer) accurate, you can request that your data be corrected. If your data is incomplete, you can request that it be completed. You have the right to request the deletion of your data. Please note that a right to erasure depends on the existence of a legitimate reason. In addition, there must be no regulations that require us to retain your data. You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your data. Please note that a right to restriction of processing depends on the existence of a legitimate ground. You have the right to receive personal data that you have provided to us in an electronic format (data portability). You can request your data stored with us as a file in the app under “Settings” and “Request my user data”.
You have the right to object to the processing of your data on grounds relating to a particular situation. In the event of a justified objection, we will no longer process your data. You have the right to object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time. This also applies to profiling in connection with direct advertising. You can send your objection to us informally.
You have the right to revoke your consent to the processing of your data, which you have given to us, at any time. This also applies to the revocation of declarations of consent that you gave to us before the General Data Protection Regulation came into force, i.e. before 25 May 2018. The easiest way to revoke consent you have given is to send an email to the contact details above. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data carried out until the withdrawal.
You are entitled to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you do not agree with the processing of your data.
To exercise your rights, please contact us at the address given in section 14. It will help us to answer your request if you clearly and unambiguously state which data you would like to be informed about. If possible, please enclose documents confirming your identity with your request.
12. Children
The functionalities and services of the timee App are not intended for persons under the age of 16. If you are under 16, you may therefore not use timee or enter your personal data in the timee App. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16. If you are a parent of a person under 16 and you become aware that your child is using timee, please contact us using the contact details set out in section 15 and arrange for the relevant user account to be deleted.
13. Changes to the data protection information
This privacy policy may be revised over time. A revision will take place, for example, if new functionalities or services are added to the timee App. We may inform you about the revised data protection information in the timee App.
